E-Conversion of Heavy-Duty Thermal Vehicles

e-Néo, AT THE HEART OF E-CONVERSION

e-Néo is the specialist in the electric conversion (retrofit) of heavy-duty or intensive-use thermal vehicles. Its solutions aim to extend the life of vehicles by installing an electric motor powered by batteries (BEV) or a combination of batteries and hydrogen fuel cell (FCEV). This is THE answer for owners and users of heavy-duty vehicles.

WHAT IS THE E-CONVERSION ?

Converting combustion vehicles into electric vehicles.

E-conversion was designed by e-Néo to provide a decarbonisation solution for heavy transport in two stages. A first retrofitting step removes the engine and tanks from the vehicle and replaces them with an electric motor and batteries. In the second stage, a reconditioning process reworks the cabin to offer the user ergonomic solutions for their working environment.

AN INNOVATIVE, CONTROLLED AND TESTED PROCESS

The 5 steps of e-Conversion:

  1. Selection: we carefully choose a vehicle over 5 years old. Uses are assessed to define the best technology, batteries with or without a hydrogen system.

  2. Review: a complete audit is performed on the vehicle. Both in the cabin and on the body, all wearable parts are changed.

  3. Preparation: a culminating stage in the e-conversion, where our teams are tasked with removing the combustion engine and its associated components. Swapped-out parts are given a second life or recycled.

  4. Transformation: according to vehicle use, the electrical components, fuel cell and hydrogen tanks (hydrogen kit) are incorporated. We are committed to maintaining the same levels of vehicle performance and safety.

  5. Approval: key to the success of e-conversion, enabling the mass production and commissioning of future converted vehicles.

ACHIEVING CARBON NEUTRALITY

Decarbonisation is acting for the future so that road transport can meet the regulatory requirements assigned by the French Ministry and the EU. This is why, at e-Néo, we are convinced that e-conversion is the solution for low-carbon HGV transport.

PLAYING A ROLE IN REGULATORY DEVELOPMENT

Our radical and rapid transport decarbonisation project is based on a set of innovations that can only be deployed in coordination with the public authorities who are changing the regulations. In recent years, with our support, some of these regulations have changed and now allow vehicles in service for at least 5 years which were originally designed with a combustion engine to operate with battery electric or fuel cell electric engines (hydrogen).

owever, to allow HGV trailer vehicles to benefit from this decarbonisation solution, French legislation still needs to be changed.
